Payment withheld because shipment is still at the branch
Summary: 4201christina faced an issue with eBay shipments, where the packages were too large for the initially chosen service, requiring a manual change in shipping label. They discarded the original shipment receipts, leading to complications with eBay's shipment tracking status, which still showed 'in branch.' petersmodellbahnstuebchen advised on updating the tracking number manually, while bootyooty warned about potential payment delays and buyer protection issues due to the lack of delivery proof. 4201christina sought guidance on contacting eBay support, struggling to find effective contact methods. perfect-sally and hasjana clarified the necessity of shipment and delivery proof for payment release, noting it could take up to 30 days without such evidence.
The following problem:
I go to the post office to send off the eBay parcels.
The lady at the post office creates the shipping labels for me using my QR code.
Unfortunately, she notices that my parcels are too big for the DHL Parcel up to 2 kg service.
After some attempts to negotiate, she cancels the shipment, gives me a credit, and the whole thing gets a new parcel label. I had to fill out the address label by hand.
Now, however, on eBay the shipment status still shows "Delivered to branch" and the status has not changed, which makes sense because the original shipping label created by eBay does not comply with the terms and conditions and was replaced by a correct one (with an extra charge paid out of my own pocket).
Now, in my infinite wisdom, I also threw away the drop-off receipts... into a trash can in a shopping center.
So how do I get the money released now? In principle, the buyer just has to confirm on eBay that he received the parcel, right?

Mentor6 days ago@4201christina
there is no function on eBay to confirm receipt of a shipment
perfect-sally
Mentor6 days agoNot right! It needs proof of shipment and delivery; anything else is not accepted by eBay.
Your payout can therefore take up to 30 days.

Mentor1 week agoHi @4201christina ,
You should check before shipping which dimensions and weights are allowed with the selected label.
You have to manually add the new tracking number to the shipment. Maybe an eBay employee can help you later this morning.

OP1 week agoHi Peter, thanks for the reply, yes that’s what the postal lady said too - the mistake is clearly on my side, I simply didn’t look properly/do my homework. However, I’m still strongly assuming that my buyer has long since received his parcel and that I would thus have fulfilled my part of the deal - all that’s missing here is proof that the shipment was also delivered.
Best regards
bootyooty
Mentor6 days agoHi @4201christina eBay can’t enter a new tracking number if you don’t know it yourself, because it got thrown away.
Your payouts will be delayed; if a buyer reports an item as not received, buyer protection kicks in because you have neither tracking nor proof of delivery, and you’ll probably lose both the money and the item.
How many shipments were there?

OP5 days agoThere are 2 shipments affected. How can I contact eBay support in this case?

Mentor5 days agoEbay has a legal notice where you can find contact options.

OP5 days agoHi again, I’ve now searched through the legal notice but unfortunately without success - only the chat assistant was linked below with a nice blue button, but it tells me that I haven’t made any sales in the last 90 days and then links to my sales where all the sales are located (?!).
I politely asked the chat assistant to give me a human contact, and then it wrote this:
reminds me a bit of HAL9000 x-)
