Set up an item in different colors, sizes, and lengths
Summary: mode-maehringer notes that listing items with different sizes, colors, and lengths on a sales platform is no longer accepted. bootyooty asks for clarification, while patrick@ebay explains that only standardized sizes are accepted in variants and that multiple values cannot be specified as common item attributes. mode-maehringer expresses frustration that the platform is making the selling process harder, and patrick@ebay gives detailed instructions on how to fix the problem by replacing custom sizes with eBay standard sizes.
Listing the same item in different sizes. No longer accepted.
Short sizes from the manufacturer, 255 = size 50 so far, are no longer accepted.
Different colors like red, black, yellow are no longer accepted.
Please call me back. The callback comes through, but it’s silent.
First Ebay deleted all my items because I supposedly no longer had a VAT ID number.
Then it was back again. It is valid for life.
Out of 270 items, only 32 have been relisted so far. I have to upload to Ebay via my Strato shop.

In the form, I entered size 38; I couldn't enter 38, 40, 50 .....

Hello @mode-maehringer it took a moment to understand exactly what you meant. You mean the shared item attributes where only one value is allowed.
For a variant listing, multiple sizes are generally possible. The different sizes should then go into the variants and not be collected as several values in a shared item attribute. If a value such as “255” is no longer accepted, this is usually due to the category selected or because eBay only allows certain values for the attribute. In that case, you should check whether the size is stored as an allowed variant value or whether a standardized size value has to be used instead.

It's hard to explain. I've now listed different pairs of pants here. Under item specifics it says "Size" again,
there I entered 38. That's not really correct. There are more sizes, but I couldn't enter that under the specifics.
patrick@ebay
Hello @mode-maehringer as already explained, you can't specify all sizes in the shared item attributes.

OP1 week agoEbay keeps making life harder and harder. If someone asked me today whether they should sell on Ebay, I’d advise against it.

Hello @mode-maehringer
If, when revising a variant listing, the message appears that something is missing or invalid, you usually need to remove custom sizes from the variants and replace them with eBay standard sizes.
Open the Variants section and click Edit.
Remove all invalid or custom sizes on the right using the X. Please note: variants containing these sizes will be deleted in the process.
Then select the appropriate eBay standard sizes on the left.
Click Update variants. This will recreate the variant combinations and reset any already entered SKU, quantity, or price data.
Then scroll down and check the newly created variants. Enter quantity, price and, if required, the SKU again for each combination.
Then click Save and close. This will save the new variants and remove the previous variant history.
You will then be taken back to the main page of the listing. Scroll all the way down there and click Revise listing to successfully complete the revision.
This should ensure that the sizes are displayed in the features.
Best regards
Patrick
