Experiences and tips: Dealing with undelivered packages outside the eBay buyer protection period
Summary: bakis_13 wants to know how to deal with undelivered packages after eBay Help has expired. perfect-sally suggests opening a dispute through the payment provider, such as PayPal or Klarna. mia@ebay recommends seeking legal advice and says they previously spoke with an eBay employee who promised support but didn’t provide it. Despite repeated attempts to contact the seller, bakis_13 has received no response and is considering legal action.
Hello community,
I think many of us have already experienced the unpleasant situation of not receiving a package and the eBay help option is now expired.
How did you handle such cases? Do you have any tips on the best way to communicate with the seller or possibly external solutions to solve the problem?
Please share your experiences and any successful strategies you may have developed to deal with such problems.
I look forward to your valuable contributions!

Mentor1 week agoHello @bakis_13 ,
many thanks for your post. Since the order was quite a while ago and the item was offered for pickup from the seller, it's of course difficult. I will ask the seller to take another look at the matter. The seller only has a certain amount of time to get in touch with buyers. Please send the seller a message so that he can access your request.
Additionally, in this specific case I recommend legal advice on what, if anything, may still be possible here. Only a lawyer or consumer protection organization may do that.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this still works out.
Thanks to @perfect-sally for the tag.
Kind regards
Mia

OP1 week agoHello Mia.
Yes, it was exactly during the time of my move from D to IT. I only realized afterwards that it had to be picked up.
Email to the seller asking for the address and WHEN to pick it up. Then he wrote that he was on vacation and would get back to me afterwards.
Never happened. Then it got forgotten in the renovation stress. A few months ago I wanted to print something and realized that the printer I had bought and paid for was not there. Then I checked on eBay and found no messages from the seller. No contact details to be found. Called eBay customer service, 45 minutes on the phone, support from eBay promised, nothing happened. I thought about it again and want to wrap up the matter. Something is going to have to work out one way or another, €350 is no small change.
Going to a lawyer/police is actually my last option. I thought eBay could maybe nudge the seller a bit...

OP1 week ago · EditedHello Mia. I wrote to the seller again. 3 days ago. No response. On Monday I will have to file a complaint against the seller, and since Ebay refuses to give me the seller's contact details and thus becomes an accomplice in a case of fraud, the address will then have to be determined through access to the case file. Annoying.

Mentor1 week agoIf the 30-day buyer protection on eBay has expired, all you can do is try whether you can still open a dispute through the payment service provider.
With PayPal, it should be possible up to 180 days after the purchase; with Klarna, as far as I know, it's 120 days. If you used others, you'll have to check how it works there.

OP1 week agoWas paid by credit card and that was so long ago that there’s nothing left to do about it.
Item is paid for and not shipped in my purchase overview. Seller is staying silent.

Mentor1 week agoPlease give the item number, maybe it helps if the seller is contacted by eBay. Most of the time, that gets a response.
@mia@ebay would you be so kind? Thanks
