Error Page - Sorry, Something went wrong on our end
Summary: w-sky reports a recurring problem with eBay in the browser, where an error message appears. This problem occurs on multiple browsers and devices, and the eBay app also shows a network error. One possible workaround is to reconnect the router, which temporarily fixes the problem. bootyooty and turbotuentchen offer tips such as turning off the router for a few minutes. A specific browser issue seems to be ruled out, since multiple browsers are affected.
Every now and then, when I want to open eBay in the browser (PC), this error page appears: "Sorry – Something went wrong on our end". Sometimes it happens right on the first try, sometimes suddenly while I'm searching for items or using the My eBay pages.
Any further attempt to load any eBay page (including the community) then results in this cute error page. The eBay app stops working too when it's on the same network. That is, until I click in my router to re-establish the connection and get assigned a new IP.
Then eBay works again right away with no problems at all. Completely baffling to me — what could be causing that? I suspect it might also be a problem with the network provider, but if I write to them saying eBay won't load, they'll probably first say it's definitely eBay's fault. :)
PS: Other websites aren't affected at the same time, or at least not that I know of. Restarting the browser, using a different browser, incognito mode, restarting the computer — none of it helps. Turning on a VPN helps, but normally I don't use a VPN.

Mentor3 weeks agoHey @w-sky usually eBay works better without VPN,
Unfortunately, you didn’t say which browser you’re using at all, whether you have an ad blocker, etc.

OP1 week agoWell: If the error occurs, then it occurs here in all browsers and on all devices, with or without an ad blocker. Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Chromium, Opera, eBay app. The eBay app doesn’t show an error screen, just “network error” or something.

Mentor1 week agoHave you tried turning off the router for a few minutes? Clean the browser, restart……..

OP1 week agoYes, as I already wrote above: It works again when I click in my router to re-establish the connection and assign a new IP. The same thing usually happens when restarting the router.
Restarting the browser, a different browser, incognito mode, restarting the computer — none of it helps.
