Cancel DHL label, bought external Hermes label
Summary: $constanze is facing an issue with canceling a DHL shipping label purchased through eBay, as the package exceeds DHL's size limit. Despite not using the label and sending the package with Hermes, $constanze is unable to cancel the DHL label and is looking for solutions to avoid paying twice for shipping. petersmodellbahnstuebchen and vera@ebay provide advice, suggesting that once a label is printed, cancellation through eBay might not be possible, though similar cancellations might work directly through DHL. $constanze considers buying labels externally in the future and expresses frustration at eBay's system, which incorrectly shows the label as shipped.
Hello everyone, I'm in a dilemma. I had linked the offer for 2 pictures with DHL shipping. But now the package is too big for DHL. I bought the label through eBay first, then realized that it doesn't fit and wanted to cancel it. But that didn't work.
In the meantime, I bought a label externally from Hermes so that I can send the package.
Overall, I have now paid postage twice. Only the Hermes label was used. I don't need the DHL label, but I still can't cancel it. What can I do?

Hello @$constanze and thanks for getting back to us about this again. This is not your fault. If a drop-off location was stored for the shipment, the label currently cannot be canceled directly via our shipping platform - in this case we take care of the credit internally, which you will find at the latest in 10 business days under Payments > All Transactions 🤗.
Thanks for flagging this topic elsewhere, @petersmodellbahnstuebchen !
Best wishes
Miriam

·1 month ago@${constanze} cancellation is no longer possible via the eBay site once the label has been printed.

·1 month ago@$constanze once the label has been printed, it can no longer be canceled. That is DHL's policy.

OP1 month agoBut that can’t be right. You can do that directly with DHL though. 😏

OP1 month agoHm, then I’ll probably buy the labels externally in the future. By the way, I also see the label at DHL. I have an account there. It was taken over by eBay, but marked as shipped. And that’s just wrong. eBay could do a bit more work on that.
Thanks anyway and best regards

Thanks a lot for your post. Have you already printed out the DHL label?
@petersmodellbahnstuebchen thanks a lot for tagging us 😊

OP1 month agoYes, I had printed it out, but not used it. So I didn’t send the parcel off with it. By the way, the parcel has already been delivered to a buyer, but with Hermes.

OP1 month agoThe DHL label is unused and I'd like to cancel it. That must be possible.

Mentor1 month ago · EditedHi @${constanze}
first take a look at DHL to see what the shipment status of the DHL label says. Just click on the tracking number in your order.

OP1 month agoThe system says: "An error occurred while loading the page. Please try again." :-)
The package has already been delivered anyway, by Hermes and not DHL.
Best, C.

Mentor1 month agoHi @${constanze }
then you'll just have to try again.
Did you at least manually enter the Hermes parcel with the tracking number in the order so Ebay can recognize the delivery?

OP1 month agoYes, it has been delivered. But eBay still hasn’t recognized it.

Mentor1 month ago · EditedHi @$constanze
possibly your customer has set a drop-off location with DHL, which could prevent you from cancelling it. You can check this yourself by taking a look at the shipment status at DHL.
Maybe the lovely @vera@ebay can help you with the cancellation, thanks Vera. ❤️
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea
