Hello, I bought an item from a private seller for a total value of under €20 incl. shipping, which was sent with basic tracking. I did not receive the shipment; a refund was promised to me over the phone by an eBay employee as a goodwill gesture, but according to his instructions I first had to open a case and wait several days so that eBay could make a decision.I did that, but contrary to what the employee said, the refund was denied because "We received shipping information from the seller showing that the item was shipped.After reviewing all the details of this case, it was decided not to issue you a refund." So what was the point of the employee's promise if they can't decide the case at all, or if the next employee involved has no knowledge of what the first one said? A callback was also not possible because of a technical error. For me, it is still not clear whether I am protected as a buyer in such a case or only have the right to open a case that will inevitably be decided against me.If proof of shipping alone when purchasing the shipping label via eBay is enough for a total value under €20 to deny a goodwill refund (and that is exactly what the response to the case says), then I know where I stand and I don't need to open a case in the future at all.
