Wrong category, misleading in my opinion
Summary: A participant named werla27 complains that a torn-out newspaper article is being offered on a platform in the Antiques & Antiquarian Books category, which he finds misleading. He notes that the actual item is only explained much later in the description, and that his complaint to the platform was rejected. petersmodellbahnstuebchen replies that the description clearly names the newspaper article and that the categorization can be debatable, but recommends filing a complaint with customer service against the decision.
Hi everyone, maybe someone has an idea. A seller is offering a newspaper article in the category
. Mind you: a torn-out newspaper article.
The headline reads: SHIDA BAZYAR "THE GAPS" HOMECOMING EPIC FROM THE HUNSRÜCK, BOOK PRIZE NOM. from '26
there's not a word about newspaper article. Of course, from the item description much further down, it's clear that it's about a newspaper article, shipping 1.10 or something like that.
Ebay does not accept my complaint; it says she has not violated any rules.
Where on earth do you get something like that?

Hi Werner,
in the item description it explicitly says that it is a newspaper article / book review. I don't see anything misleading there.
Since it is a review of an antiquarian book, you could argue about the correct category. In addition, the features explicitly name the press article and the publication year 2026.
If Ebay has rejected your complaint, they probably think the same way there. You’re welcome to try filing a complaint with customer service about this decision.
Best regards from the Baltic Sea
