Wrong item
Summary: jasminsan07 shared an issue with an online purchase, where they received a subpar cookware set mislabeled as a reputable brand. They reported selecting the wrong return reason on eBay, resulting in a requirement to pay for half the price, and felt unsupported by eBay's buyer protection. petersmodellbahnstuebchen suggested providing order details for further assistance, but jasminsan07 decided to wait for an email solution. It was noted by petersmodellbahnstuebchen and perfect-sally that waiting might affect the buyer protection time frame, which had already expired as the problem dates back to May. jasminsan07 insisted they acted promptly but received no effective help.
I have a case like this: I ordered a pot set. When I got it, I couldn’t believe my eyes. This set was labeled with a brand that is a very good brand today. But what I received were pots that looked like they were made of tin. For the return reason, I selected not as described, but I had to select problems with the item. Since I selected the wrong thing, I won’t be helped and the seller has set it up so that I have to pay half the price of the item. I feel let down by Ebay and they’re not offering me any buyer protection! That is very, very bad. Looking into anything again from here will most likely not happen anymore.
Has anyone experienced something like this?

Mentor3 weeks agoHey @jasminsan07
Your details about the case are very general. Please provide the order and item number, then an eBay employee can be happy to check that.
Kind regards from the Baltic Sea

OP3 weeks agoThanks for your quick response. Then I’ll do it. First I’m still waiting for an email. If that doesn’t get resolved there, I can give more details. But I’ve had this problem since May. It shouldn’t take that long. I really don’t think that’s good at all.

Mentor3 weeks agoHi @jasminsan07
Waiting usually doesn't solve any problems. The deadline for eBay buyer protection is 30 days. After that, only the payment service provider can still help you.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you've had this problem since May, eBay buyer protection has expired anyway!

OP3 weeks agoI waited for the replies, otherwise I would have reacted right away. I let Ebay know in time. It wasn’t in my hands. : (

Mentor3 weeks agoYou really have to get active and stay active. Just letting eBay know isn’t enough, unfortunately.
