Error in the calculation of items not sent on time.
Summary: noveltycat2023 reported an issue with the calculation of delayed shipments in their seller dashboard, noticing an unexpected discrepancy in percentages. perfect-sally tagged an eBay representative for assistance. samantha@ebay, identified as Samantha from eBay, explained that different reporting periods affect the metrics, but noveltycat2023 expressed confusion about a sudden increase in their delayed shipment rate. alena@ebay, identified as Alena, clarified that the change resulted from a rolling review period and the exclusion of March's transactions, affecting the percentage calculation. Alena also noted that not all transactions are included in the calculation, such as those lacking shipping details or involving special shipping programs.
Error in the calculation of items shipped late.
Since yesterday, the following has been shown in my Seller Cockpit;
Defect rate 0.00% for 457 transactions
Rate of items shipped late 3 of 117 transactions
Cases closed without seller resolution 0.00% for 457 transactions
That means the calculation is being made based on 117 transactions and not the correct 457 transactions
I tried to clarify the problem via Ebay's help page, but I
unfortunately can't get any further. Maybe I can get some help here.

Mentor1 month agoHello @noveltycat2023 I took a closer look at this. The rate of items shipped late is calculated based on a rolling evaluation period. With the turn of the month, March dropped out of the calculation and the transactions from April to June are now being taken into account. Since there were no late shipments in March, but presumably additional transactions shipped on time were included, the total number of transactions considered has decreased. As a result, the same three late shipments can carry more weight percentage-wise, even though no new late delivery has been added.
In your case, 3 late shipments are currently being evaluated out of 117 transactions considered, which corresponds to a rate of 2.56%. So you are still within the threshold for the Top Rating.
It is also important that not all sales are taken into account for this rate. Only transactions for which valid shipping information is available are included, such as integrated tracking. If this information is missing or the buyer does not answer the question about on-time delivery, the transaction is not included in the calculation. Likewise excluded are, for example, pickups, freight shipping, transactions via the Global Shipping Program or eBay International Shipping - so the number may differ.

OP1 month agoThat may be true, but it can't differ so much that it's over 300 transactions.

Mentor1 month agoHello @noveltycat2023
Different time periods are covered here, but unfortunately that isn’t stated.
For the two values defect rate and cases without clarification, it is 1 year, and for the rate of articles sent out late, it is 3 months.
But you’re still in the green here and everything is fine.
Thanks for your tag @perfect-sally
Best regards
Samantha

OP1 month agoHi Samantha, I don't understand this. Why did I still have a rate of around 0.6% last week and now suddenly over 2.5%? No new delay has been added. I can't make anything of the statement that everything is in the green zone.
If I have sold over 450 items, then that should actually apply to all 3 areas.

Mentor1 month agoAn ebay employee can take a look at this and will get back here.
@samantha@ebay could you please take a look? Thanks

OP1 month agothanks for marking it, because suddenly 2.56% is at least 2% too much
