Fees for items priced at EUR 1 with Buy It Now
Hello everyone, I have now been charged fees for items with a starting price of 1 EUR. Buy It Now option is active. What have I overlooked?

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @vv-kaertchen you currently have over 700 items listed, maybe your quota of fee-free listings is exhausted, you can check that yourself in the VK cockpit

OP2 weeks agoNow you want to pull my leg :-) But yes, I am really private, and I have lots and lots of old postcards. But how can I tell which limit has been met and which one applies to me? :-)

Listing fees
You can create 320 listings each month without a listing fee. A fee of EUR 0.50 is charged for all listings created after this monthly quota has been used up.
The listing fees are only charged once, namely when you create the original listing or when you manually relist an item that previously did not sell. When relisting via the automatic relisting function and when the monthly extension of listings set with the “Good ’Til Cancelled” function, no additional listing fees are charged. These listings are also not counted against your monthly quota of listings that are not subject to a listing fee.

The starting price may only be EUR 1.00.
Isn't this not the limit of what you are generally allowed to offer as a supposedly private seller or what you can offer. That is decided by other institutions, and they will get in touch with you if they don't like it!
eBay itself sees it as follows, but unfortunately it is sanctioned far too leniently:
You are typically acting as a business or commercially if you:
buy items in order to resell them
sell items that you have made for resale
regularly sell large quantities of items
sell similar goods, especially new goods, over a longer period of time
frequently sell new items that you did not acquire for your own use
According to case law, the following are considered indications of commercial activity:
operating an eBay shop
Number of current sales: If many items are sold continuously over a longer period of time, this is generally a commercial seller
Gradual sale of a private collection over many years
Type of items sold (new or used goods, value): The sale of several similar navigation devices was classified as proof of commercial activity – as was the offering of 250 batteries in various sizes, referring to the availability of larger quantities.
a website or the use of advertising descriptions that create a professional impression
Note: We regularly review the trading activities of our sellers and may ask them to label their eBay account as a business account. You should also expect to receive a paid warning letter from competitors or consumer protection associations and to be sued in court for injunctive relief.

OP2 weeks agoUnderstood. But besides the 320, are there also the additional 2500 free ones?

There are exceptions to the additional 2500 free offers, after all. You may have selected some extra options.
Have a look under Payments - All transactions to see exactly what you were charged for, mention a specific case with the item number, and an eBay rep can review the case.
