Summary: bullybu111 reports being scammed on eBay, where they were sold a fake silver coin. The seller agreed to take it back, but only on the condition that the coin be sent back first, which raises suspicions for bullybu111. Others advise handling the return through eBay and making sure there is tracking. bullybu111 expresses concern that the seller may not acknowledge the evidence and worries whether the money will actually be refunded.
Hello everyone, I was sold a demonstrably fake silver coin on Ebay, and the seller is acting like he has no clue 🤔
He agreed to take it back, but I was supposed to send the fake coin back first. After a long and difficult conversation, I no longer trust this seller.
Ebay has now written to me saying that I should send the coin back.
Does that also apply to fake silver coins?
I would be very grateful for advice.

Mentor2 weeks agoHi, hi.
if you want your money back, then you should send the coin back. What you have here is a complaint. That means the seller has to provide you with a return label. You send the coin back and then get your money back.

Mentor2 weeks agoThat applies to all articles, or do you think you can make a claim that nobody here can verify and just keep the item like that and get your money back?
Of course you can also take action against it outside of eBay and report it, which will naturally take forever until anything comes of it, and the coin will be seized as evidence.

OP2 weeks agoHello, I of course do not want to keep the fake coin.
I can prove that the coin is a fake, I have the equipment for it and the expertise.
What just annoys me is that the seller, without having any clue, does not
want to believe my evidence. He wants the coin back first, then I’ll get my money.
Judging by the conversation, I don’t trust this seller at all.
And whether I get my money back hmmm good question 🤔

Mentor2 weeks agoYou have buyer protection! Open the return as written and send it back with tracking. The seller has to provide you with a label. And if the seller doesn’t respond after provable return receipt, you can involve eBay and they’ll refund you.

Mentor2 weeks agoOpen a return because the item does not match the description. The seller must pay for the return shipping and refund it.
Important: only send it back with tracking!
