generated DHL number
The generated DHL number was already assigned. I can’t send the package with it. I also can’t cancel the shipping label

Do you have any proof that the label was invalid according to the post office branch?

This is the link to the shipment tracking for the eBay tracking number that isn't working. The DHL number I bought on eBay and which doesn't work is 357821909004. You can see that the shipment was forwarded already days before 13.9. I only sold the item on 13.9.
The tracking number stored on eBay, 0034043439220......, is the tracking number I received when I paid the postage myself in cash at the post office branch.
Please also note that the format of the tracking number is different: cash at the post office branch always starts with 003404343... Tracking number on eBay for DHL generated always starts with 35.....

It’s actually quite simple: on 14.9. I bought a DHL parcel label with the number 357821909004 on eBay for 7.69. Someone should be able to verify that. I received an email with the QR code. That should also be verifiable. But the number had already been assigned. Just enter the tracking number in DHL shipment tracking. There you can see that the shipment was transported days earlier, before 14.9. So: on 14.09. eBay generated an already existing tracking number and sold it to me.
So that my buyer gets his package, I went to the post office on the afternoon of 14.9., bought a parcel slip for 7.69, and then entered the tracking number 0034.... on eBay so that the buyer can track his delivery.
I would like the 7.69 euros back, because eBay demonstrably generated a false number.

this is what the shipment status looks like at DHL:
The shipment was already prepared for onward transport on 11/09, even though the seller only sold the item on 13/09.
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark here (Ebay / DHL).
Could you please have the specialist department check this once (I know, probably not today anymore)

OPSep 16, 2026 at 8:49 AMI’m sitting at my big computer now, here I can insert screenshots. At the top, 2 shots of the email I got after I bought the shipping label for the package on Ebay. If I knew how, I would also forward the whole email. What you can see: label bought on 14/09, my name, my buyer’s name, the package number generated by Ebay, which had already been assigned. That the number had already been assigned can be seen when, like Peter, you enter the tracking number at DHL. Peter did that, see above. What else can I do? And again, a reminder: the tracking number that is now entered on Ebay is the tracking number for which I manually bought and paid for a shipping label at the post office. I can photograph the receipt and the tracking slip section and post it here if needed.

could you check the shipment status with DHL using the tracking number of the unusable eBay label to see whether a redirection or drop-off location might have been stored there?
That has often led to this error message appearing at the branches.

I can’t see either the drop-off location or any drop-off location. In the unusable eBay tracking, I can see that on 11/9 the shipment was prepared for onward transport. But I only sold the item on 13/09

OP1 month agoI took the package to DHL, bought a parcel label there by hand, and sent my package with it.
Is there any way I can get my money back from eBay for the parcel label that couldn't be used?
