Use a business eBay account for a private one-off sale

Can I use my existing commercial eBay account for a one-off private sale without having to create a new account?

Of course not! That would deprive the buyer of the consumer rights that a business account is supposed to offer. And it can have nasty consequences that get expensive.

However, with this account you also can’t sell commercially without a VAT ID. As soon as eBay finds out, the account will be restricted!
