Size violates principles
Summary: A participant is facing issues with two of their eBay auctions that were removed due to a sizing policy violation. The items, which lacked size labels, only had measurements listed. They cannot edit or remove these closed listings despite instructions stating otherwise. Another participant points out the updated sizing rules from August. The participant remains confused, noting a discrepancy between eBay's message and their inability to edit the listings. Another participant confirms that once listings are removed by eBay, they cannot be edited, reinforcing the need to relist the items correctly.
Hello, 2 of my auctions were ended early because supposedly the size entry violates the guidelines. But the items don’t list a size because they’re unlabelled. Instead of size, I entered the measurements and the auctions were blocked. So far so good - that wouldn’t be too bad in itself. I could estimate the size fairly well, but unfortunately the ended listings can neither be edited nor ended. The accompanying email said: "Your listings remain saved so you can edit them" .
Unfortunately, that’s not possible - when I click "edit" it says: "ended listing may not be edited" ....if I click on "end", it says: "ending failed".
I could list the items again under a new auction, that’s no problem, but how do I get rid of these 2 ended auctions again?
And likewise all clothing bundle auctions were ended (however without me receiving a violation notice) and I can’t list them again because the size entry is invalid.
But if the bundle contains several sizes ...e.g. 104 to 110, I can hardly enter just one size - what do you enter there according to the new rules?

OP1 month agoApparently I wrote my question too extensively - I thought that would be better so people know what it’s about. Well then - it’s not the principle that’s my problem, but why can’t I edit the auction when it’s explicitly offered, and also not end it. I thought maybe someone from eBay reads this here and can look into why that doesn’t work, or that someone has already solved something like this themselves and can give me advice ......
The principle is completely clear to me.

Mentor1 month agoAs far as I know, you can no longer edit ended listings on eBay @a.qac7 because they were deleted, but they’re still visible to you.
Or am I mistaken here @verena@ebay 😻

OP1 month agoalso in the message I received about it it explicitly says: "The affected listings are still in your folder ‘Active listings’ in My eBay as well as in Seller Cockpit Pro, so that you can edit the listings...."
That’s right - the listings are there with a button: "resolve"
If I click on "resolve", I can choose under "edit" and "end listing"
But neither one nor the other works. Every time I get a red message saying it’s not possible.
I’d just be interested to know what eBay thinks I should do with the listings then .....

·1 month agoHello @a.qac7 ,
here @bootyooty is right. Since the listings have already ended, editing is no longer possible. You therefore need to list the items again.
The ended listings and the notice about the policy violations will remain in your eBay account and cannot be removed manually.
Thanks for the tag, @bootyooty . 😽
Best wishes

OP1 month ago · Edited...why then does Ebay write to me in the message:
"The affected listings are still in your folder ‘Active Listings’ in My eBay as well as in Seller Cockpit Pro, so that you can edit the listings to fix the problem of the policy violation. Until the listings have been edited, they are not visible to buyers and cannot be purchased by new buyers. In addition, no further listing fees will be charged. After you have edited the listings, they will be shown again and your items will be available for sale again. If you want, you can also end the listings to remove them from the folder ‘Active Listings’."
???
I don't have to understand that now, do I?

Mentor1 month agoMoin @a.qac7 since August, something new has been in effect in the category on eBay.
https://pages.ebay.de/listing-sizes/#august-2026-auto-updates
is also anchored in the policy
https://www.ebay.de/help/policies/listing-policies/grundsatz-zur-artikelbeschreibung?id=4372
Clothing and shoe listings must use a size value approved for the category, e.g.:
Alpha sizes (2XS–XXL)
Numeric sizes
region-specific sizes, where available
Sellers must select the size that best matches the manufacturer’s size specification. If no exact size is available, choose the size option that is most likely to be compatible
When creating a listing using the eBay catalog, the product details must exactly match the item
Items must be listed in the correct category
Item descriptions must be written in the main language of the eBay website on which the item is listed

Mentor1 month agoHi, hi.
Size violates the principles never heard of that.
Have you tried clearing the cache and deleting cookies and/or using a different browser?

OP1 month ago"One or more of your offers violate our standard sizes policy and have been removed." is exactly what the message says, and yes, I cleared the cache, deleted the cookies, and restarted the PC.

Mentor1 month agoHey @meinehexe11 the principle (see my post here) was revised in August.
