Large letters: error in shipment tracking?
Summary: pixelwalter reports a problem with parcel tracking for large letters, which two days after drop-off still have not been scanned at the initial sorting center, unlike small packages, which were processed correctly. perfect-sally confirms that another member reported similar problems, points out that letters only have basic tracking, and suggests asking an eBay employee for clarification.
On Monday around 8 a.m., I dropped off a total of about 30 large letters at two different post office branches. Two days later, the status of ALL the letters is still open, and they still haven’t been scanned at the origin center as part of the basic shipment tracking. Now, from my professional work as an online seller, I actually know that these letters are processed at the letter center on the same day — in one year I haven’t experienced anything else.
The surprising thing is: the small parcels I dropped off at the same time were all processed properly and without any problems, and some have already been delivered to customers, even though as far as I know they are also treated like letter mail.
It’s only the large letters whose status in the basic shipment tracking has remained unchanged so far.
Could there possibly be a technical error in Deutsche Post’s system? Have you had similar experiences in the past few days?

Hello @pixelwalter ,
many thanks for your post.
I recommend that you check with Deutsche Post here. We are not aware of any error.
@perfect-sally Thanks a lot for tagging 🤗

Mentor2 weeks agoYou are already the 2nd user today to complain about this, but as you know letters only have basic tracking and that can sometimes be flaky. Whether there are problems at Deutsche Post, eBay can’t really know.
But we can gladly ask an eBay employee whether anything is known.
@selina_b@ebay could you take a look please? Thanks
