Credit
Summary: danjo2025 had issues accessing eBay customer service and noticed their sales balance wasn't showing despite being marked as available. perfect-sally and petersmodellbahnstuebchen provided advice, suggesting checking for deductions such as fees or shipping costs. verena@ebay clarified that the seller's earnings were used to offset outstanding costs from other sales, resolving the confusion. danjo2025 appreciated the explanation and acknowledged the misunderstanding.
Hi,
unfortunately, eBay customer service can’t be reached, not by phone and the chat is a complete disaster.
This is about the following, and maybe someone has experience with it.
I sold something, everything went properly, package successfully delivered, buyer left feedback.
According to the system, the money is available, so the point lights up green and has switched from "held" to "Available," but the amount is not shown to me as credit in any form.
Not even under processing or held or anywhere else.
I only see the transaction in the history, but my credit balance is 0.
What could be the reason for this? Is this a system error?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Danny

Mentor1 month agoHello @danjo2025 ,
Thanks a lot for your post!
As @petersmodellbahnstuebchen already correctly suspected, the available credit was automatically used to settle the outstanding costs, in this case shipping costs.
You can find a list of the individual transactions here.
Thanks for the tag, @perfect-sally ! ❤
Best regards

OP1 month agoHello,
yes, the shipping costs have been deducted, but what about my remaining amount?
There is still some proceeds left over.
verena@ebay
Mentor1 month agoThe sale proceeds of the item are 10.29 EUR. Your outstanding costs (two shipping labels + one ad fee) amount to a total of 19.84 EUR. The 10.29 EUR were deducted directly from your balance; the remaining amount will be deducted from the amount still being withheld for the sold coffee machine.
Kind regards
Verena

OP1 month ago · EditedThanks for the explanation 😊! I wasn’t aware that everything gets lumped together like that, since they’re different auctions/sales.
Then that all makes sense.
Best regards 🙃

Mentor1 month agoHi @danjo2025
There may have been fees or labels incurred somewhere that have already been deducted from your balance.
You can check this under Payments - All transactions.
Otherwise, just post the order number here, and an eBay employee can check the matter.
Best regards from the Baltic Sea

OP1 month agoHi and thanks for your reply.
22-14837-06209 that is the order number.
Only the Hermes shipping cost was deducted from the amount; no other fees were due.
In another sale, which is still being processed (in transit), it was an item I had listed, and there the eBay commission was deducted directly, as were the shipping costs.
I’ll try calling right away; it seems to be working again now.
Best regards 🙃

Mentor1 month ago · EditedAn eBay employee can take a look at this and get back here. I’d also be interested to know why customer service is supposed to be unreachable by phone. Did you see the contact info in the legal notice?
Hello @verena@ebay could you please take a look? Thanks

OP1 month agoI went via the help page in the app, and there this morning there was the notice that it was currently not possible to get in touch by phone.
But I just tried again a moment ago and the voice computer greeted me.
I’ll give them a call in a minute; this morning it didn’t work, though.
