Seller refuses to honor the warranty – what can I do?
Summary: stembatee reported a problem with a commercial seller on eBay who is refusing to honor warranty claims for a defective LED lamp. Despite trying to prove the defect with photos, the seller is blocking contact and is demanding a video, even though this cannot be sent through eBay. perfect-sally recommended reaching the seller through alternative contact methods listed in the legal notice. stembatee thanked them and asked about closing the thread, to which perfect-sally replied that it would happen due to inactivity.
I bought an LED lamp on eBay from a commercial seller, and it has since broken. Despite existing warranty rights, the seller refuses to honor them. He asked for a video to prove the defect, but I can’t send videos through the eBay messaging system. I already sent a photo, but now the seller is blocking any further contact. How should I proceed in this situation? I’m looking forward to tips or experiences, especially on how eBay can help in cases like this.

Mentor1 month agoWell, you have to enforce your consumer rights yourself. Ebay is not responsible for your consumer rights and won’t help.
And in the end, it has to be a commercial seller, and then you don’t have to send anything via eBay messages because there has to be a legal notice. And there you can find contact options and, of course, an email address, and you can also send attachments of all kinds.

How can the thread be closed?

Mentor1 month agoNot at all. Just stop replying and then it will keep sliding further down.
