I object to the refund
Summary: beat-proponent reports a purchase from a seller who offered multiple items. Although the item was not delivered, the seller refunded the purchase amount instead of resending the item. beat-proponent wants the item and is considering charging the seller the difference in the higher cost of repurchasing it. perfect-sally and oskar_der_wikinger explain that such claims for compensation of the difference are not supported by the sales platform and recommend leaving the seller a factual review.
Hello dear community,
I bought an item at a good price. The seller is offering the same item multiple times. The delivery didn’t arrive (status announced at DHL). I messaged the seller, who assured me it would be clarified. I then had to proactively follow up again. He then refunded me without comment and informed me about it. But I don’t want the money, I want the item. The seller could have simply resent it, since he has the item listed multiple times. Now I would have to buy it again at a higher price. To my knowledge, we entered into a purchase contract that is still valid, and I could charge the difference...
Any experience or tips?
Many thanks

Mentor3 weeks agoHi @beat-proponent
of course you have a legally valid purchase contract.
Of course you can try to enforce this through legal action. However, doing so won’t get you more than an enforceable title, whose execution can sometimes be quite costly and not always successful.

Mentor3 weeks agoHello @beat-proponent
eBay's system doesn't know this kind of approach; here it's either all or nothing, which means that either you receive the item on the first try, or if nothing arrives, you get a refund.
Take a look, maybe you can still leave the seller a factual rating.
But that doesn't always work after a refund either.

@beat-proponent you're welcome to do that outside of eBay, but eBay won't help you with it. With the refund, the matter is settled for eBay.
