International shipping
Summary: karabas666 asks questions about international shipping from both the buyer and seller perspectives. There are problems shipping items from the USA, even though international shipping is offered. perfect-sally suggests this may be due to special shipping programs and generally advises private sellers against shipping abroad to avoid losses. petersmodellbahnstuebchen recommends using shipping cost tables to cover different countries and confirms that certain programs exclude countries. karabas666 is looking for more information about the tables, since only a fixed shipping price can be specified.
Hello,
I have a question each about international shipping from the perspective of a buyer and a seller.
I can't buy some items from abroad (in the example, the USA), even though the seller offers international shipping and doesn't exclude Germany (he confirmed this to me). I've had this happen several times. When I click on "Proceed to checkout", it only shows me that the seller doesn't ship to my address and that I should enter another one.
As a seller, how can I specify the costs for international shipping without knowing which country I'm ultimately shipping to? The costs can be completely different depending on whether the item goes to France, for example, or to Canada. I can only enter one price for the item.
I would really appreciate help and advice.

It probably depends on which products and which shipping method are offered. If, for example, the International Shipping Program is used, some countries are not served for various reasons.
you can solve that, for example, with shipping cost tables that you use in your policies. There you can set the shipping costs for individual countries and / or regions.
However, you should keep in mind that when selling to other countries, other rules often apply as well, and other eBay companies decide in disputes..
Best regards from the Baltic Sea

OP2 weeks agoWhere can I find this table here to set the shipping costs per country? In the article, I only have the option to enter a fixed price.

Mentor2 weeks agoFor 1: if the seller uses some shipping program like e.g. Global Shipping Program, apparently some items can’t be shipped to D with it. The seller would have to reconsider their shipping partner or assign the order to other parcel services.
For 2. There are plenty of ways to specify the different shipping costs for different countries. And often the shipping costs, e.g. within the EU, are the same, and so additional costs for e.g. Asia, Europe, USA, Canada....etc. can be specified.
But I would strongly recommend not shipping abroad at all as a private seller if you don’t want to lose money and goods. Too much has already happened there.
