Buyer claims someone else took the shipment from the parcel locker
Summary: A participant raised a concern about a buyer claiming that someone else took a shipment from a Packstation. The discussion includes various responses among participants meinklein_28, bootyooty, and others, but no specific details about the resolution are mentioned.
I have just received the following message:
Hello, I was near Chemnitz this morning until just now and at around 12:51 p.m. someone took your package with the item from the parcel locker in Zeithain or rather stole it! Would you please contact DHL and report the case? Why didn’t the courier put a pickup card in my mailbox? I want my money refunded immediately now! This is outrageous!"
Do I actually have to refund the purchase price?

Hello @meinklein_28,
thank you very much for your post.
I recommend that you initiate an investigation with DHL and your buyer should ideally file a police report.
As far as I know, you need a code or the pickup card (this can also come by email) to open the compartment.
@bootyooty Thank you very much for the tag 😘
Kind regards
Selina

That's true, BUT there are also malfunctions at the parcel station. Example: I want to place a parcel inside and a compartment opens. But there's already a parcel in that compartment. As an honest person, I close the compartment again and have a new one assigned to me. That's how I do it. Others might just take the parcel out...
Things like that don't happen often, but it has happened before.

Mentor1 month agoYep @meinehexe11 but if the buyer is complaining that he didn’t receive a pickup card, how does he know all that then? From the tracking, presumably, but right there he could also have seen that something was waiting for him, and then he probably wouldn’t need to complain about a missing pickup card.
Pickup took place two hours after it was placed in the parcel locker.

Mentor1 month agoHey, @meinklein_28 uh.... he has to file a report with the police; that counts as proof for ebay and besides, why should you file a claim with DHL? As the recipient, he should also report the theft to DHL, or what do you mean @selina_b@ebay 😘 ?

Mentor1 month agoThat sounds really strange to me, @meinklein_28 it was certainly the expensive item, sold on 8.6. ?

OP1 month agoExactly the 200 € video kit for the Macintosh from the early 1990s
I only found one on Ebay, in the USA, still in its original packaging, for the asking price of over 19,000 US dollars, bargain 😂
I also fear that someone wants to keep both the item AND the money

Mentor1 month agoI would never write something like that... but I might think it. 😎
How is anyone else supposed to get to the compartment of the parcel locker, of all things? There's a code that opens it, right?
Or are there signs of forced entry on that compartment, of all things? Please wait @meinklein_28 until @selina_b@ebay has dealt with your case and replies here.

Mentor1 month agoHey @bootyooty ,
I’ve had this situation at the Packstation quite often. The compartment I was supposed to put the parcel in was already occupied.
If that’s the case, I close the compartment and simply choose "Other compartment" until I find an empty one. Only then do I select "Parcel inserted" to make sure nobody messes with my parcel.
You’ll have to sort out the issue with DHL yourself.
