Buyer rates almost all sellers negatively and demands his money back
Summary: One participant, franzochs, reports a problematic buyer who left negative feedback after purchasing an item described as a “vintage collection for tinkerers.” franzochs complains that the buyer regularly tries to apply pressure through negative reviews and refund requests. perfect-sally recommends always taking photos from every angle to avoid misunderstandings, but expresses doubts about the likelihood of getting help from the platform. Another participant, bootyooty, encourages reporting abuse of buyer protection. franzochs thanks everyone for the support and plans to take these steps. oskar_der_wikinger adds that it’s incomprehensible why buyers don’t just ask for additional photos before writing long negative reviews.
“The buyer gave me a negative rating because the item has signs of wear on the back. But I explicitly declared the package as 'uncleaned vintage collection for crafters and upcycling.' So the buyer is maliciously rating a condition that I had described exactly like that in advance. I already reported him, because on his profile you can see that he does this regularly. He bids on discount, and if he doesn’t like the item or doesn’t find anything valuable in it, he wants a partial or full refund of his money. He gives almost only negative ratings. He gave me a negative rating as if I were a scammer, and I can’t defend myself against it

Mentor3 weeks agoQuite apart from this review, I’ll never understand buyers like that who hammer out endless comments in the reviews, but can’t manage beforehand to ask a seller with two or three words for additional photos.
These are probably the kind of people who complain to Knaldi if the receipt has a dog-ear.

Mentor3 weeks agoAnd what is your question for the community?
I looked at your pictures and so far the buyer is right, there are no pictures of the backsides at all.
That way no one can verify what the backsides actually look like, and the rating will stay with you. It's more likely that your additional comment will be deleted.

OP3 weeks agoIt says in my description, I explicitly point out that the item is sold as “Vintage collection/miscellaneous estate lot explicitly for tinkerers, flea market and upcycling projects in uncleaned condition.” We’re talking about DIY goods over 50 years old here. Also, the buyer does this all the time, demands partial refunds, and gives the sellers negative reviews. There has to be a way to defend yourself properly against this. Xann any buyer do that. Article years, says does not match the description, demand part of the money back and if the seller immediately leaves a bad review, before anything has even been decided

Mentor3 weeks agoThe buyer may see this differently than you described it. That is exactly why items should be photographed from all sides. That way ebay has no way of assessing the item’s actual condition.
Unfortunately, there are always troublemakers like this who then want to drive the price down and leave negative feedback. Reports to ebay come to nothing, and in the end sellers are left with nothing but putting such types on the block list. And unfortunately only after the damage has already been done.

OP3 weeks agoBut ebay should notice at some point when the buyer regularly pulls this stunt and constantly leaves negative feedback for sellers.

Mentor3 weeks agoEbay might see something like this at some point, but I seriously doubt they’ll actually respond.

OP3 weeks agoIt's really a shame that, at 84 years old, you have to be called a fraud here. Now I understand why more and more sellers are leaving eBay. I still thank you for your replies. Many kind regards

Mentor3 weeks agoTag @franzochs if a buyer abuses buyer protection and all SELLERS report it to ebay, then naturally it does come to light at some point.
Report that
