Buyer cancels purchase and asks for my approval - Declined!
Summary: daddyxpl reports a problem with a buyer who canceled a purchase and asked for approval, which was denied. Since the payment never came through, daddyxpl wants to initiate a formal demand procedure, but is having trouble getting the buyer’s address from the platform. perfect-sally advises contacting customer service, but that was unsuccessful due to privacy reasons. melina@ebay recommends submitting the request to customer service by email, as the address can be provided there. daddyxpl thanks everyone for the support.
Good day dear community; unfortunately, a buyer (value 500,--€) canceled a purchase and asked for my consent because of "mistake". Since it was a "Buy It Now" offer and the buyer even negotiated a significantly lower price, I did not give my consent and am now expecting payment. Since this has so far not been made, I would now like to initiate the dunning procedure. However, eBay is not showing me the buyer's address. How do I get the address now???

Mentor1 week agoHello @daddyxpl
Our customer service can only send you the buyer’s address for the purpose of a dunning procedure by email. There may have been a misunderstanding during the initial conversation. Please contact our customer service here by email. I’m sure you’ll get a reply shortly.
@perfect-sally Thanks for the tag.
Best regards
Melina

OP1 week agoGood day, here I am again! I actually managed to reach a customer service rep. However, because of "data protection," they are refusing to give me the buyer’s address, despite what I consider to be a valid purchase contract. Instead, the customer service rep will now ask the buyer to send their address (which will probably hardly happen). Does anyone have any other idea how I can get hold of the address?

Mentor1 week agoWow, I’ve never heard that before. Basically, the address has to be provided, especially if the seller wants to take legal action.
I’ll pass it on to the eBay employee here who’s present, she’ll get back here.
Hello @melina@ebay can you please help out here and somehow help TE with the address? It’s worked that way before, just like I described it.
Thanks a lot

Mentor1 week ago · EditedYou can only get the address from customer service, not here because of data protection.
And since you responded on eBay (declined), you probably can’t cancel the purchase anymore after 4 min. days, and the non-payer gets away without a note.

OP1 week agoFirst of all, many thanks for the quick response. I probably didn't express myself clearly either: I don't want to cancel the purchase at all - rather, I want to know how I can get the buyer's address so that I can initiate the dunning procedure

Mentor1 week agoAs written, only about customer service. Either dial the number in the imprint and call, or write employee or callback to the BOT several times; eventually it will get it.
