Buyer cancelled the purchase
Hello everyone,
can I “force” a buyer to buy/pay for the item?
In my case, the buyer wanted to cancel the purchase and wrote to me “bought by mistake”.
But I’m of the opinion that I got a good price for the item, so he should then also pay for it, because by placing his bid, actually several bids, he agreed to the purchase.

Mentor1 week agoForce? You can take legal action against him with the help of a lawyer. There’s nothing you can do through eBay.

Mentor1 week agoIf you think it’s worth the effort. And if there’s nothing to get from the “buyer” in the end, you’ll be left holding the possible costs too.
If you haven’t accepted or declined it since then, you can cancel the purchase after at least 4 days for non-payment, and the guy will at least get his non-payer note.
And put him on the blocklist right away.

whether it would be worth it depends on how solvent a debtor is. With a lawsuit, you only obtain a legal title, nothing more. If the debtor is unable to pay, all you have is a piece of paper and you’re left to foot the bill.
