Buyer does not collect shipment
Summary: lolaalein reports that a buyer did not pick up a shipment and, after it was returned, is now demanding a refund and considering legal action. lolaalein has already offered a partial refund, but does not see why they should cover the shipping costs, as this is considered the buyer's fault. perfect-sally and nina@ebay offered support, with nina@ebay suggesting taking further steps if the buyer rejects the partial refund. lolaalein thanks them for the help.
My buyer did not pick up the shipment (shipped with tracking) from the DHL shop up. Now, after it was returned to me because it wasn’t picked up, he is demanding his money back and wants to go to a lawyer.
It was shipped quickly, the tracking number was shared right away, and now he’s arguing that he doesn’t have time all the time to keep checking on things.
But I, as the seller, don’t think I should have to pay the roughly €8 shipping (parcel), because the pickup was the buyer’s responsibility. How should I handle this?
(I sent a partial refund)

Mentor2 weeks agoHey @lolaalein
in my opinion, you behaved completely correctly.
If your "buyer" wants to go to a lawyer, you can't stop him, but you can sit back and relax.

Mentor2 weeks ago@lolaalein Good morning. 🙂 I’ve been happy to take a look at that. At the moment, your buyer hasn’t accepted the partial refund yet. If they decline it, feel free to get back to us here so we can step in to clarify the open return.
@perfect-sally Thanks a lot for the tag. ❤
Best regards,
Nina

Mentor2 weeks agoIf you have issued a refund and deducted the shipping costs, that's perfectly fine!
Please mention the item number and an eBay employee will take a look at it.
Good morning @nina@ebay would you be so kind? Thank you very much
