Buyer uses "Doesn't work/defective" as an incorrect reason for return | Members help members

Hello everyone, I sold a lens (Order 21-14637-40448) where the buyer claims it doesn't work or is defective. It's a lens that was built for DSLR cameras. But he is now using it with an adapter on a mirrorless camera. I clearly stated in the listing that it is for a Canon EF mount. Since the buyer apparently wasn't aware of that and also doesn't want to send the lens to the manufacturer for a firmware update, he is now using the "Doesn't work/defective" button to get rid of it again. For me as a private seller, that means costs and effort that I'm not willing to bear. That's why I also clearly stated no returns and sold it with "Sale is made excluding any warranty for material defects." I have been a loyal Ebay user since 2007, while the buyer has only been around since 03/2026 with no ratings or history. And yet I now fear that I, as the seller, will come off worse here. Can anyone help or recommend a course of action? Thanks in advance 🙂
