Buyer Protection case: MacBook with battery health far below expected + crashes – how should I proceed? | Members help members

Hello everyone,I’m hoping for a quick assessment of the right course of action in an ongoing eBay buyer protection case.I bought a MacBook from a private seller. The listing stated that it was in good condition, and the listing photos also showed a battery condition of 100%. In the description itself, the battery condition was not mentioned in any more detail.After receiving the device, I noticed the following:Battery capacity according to macOS initially 92%, shortly after 89% (possibly a bad battery)According to an analysis program, the battery health is below 70 % (so below the usual replacement threshold of around 80%)In addition, a significant functional defect has now appeared:The MacBook crashes regularly (sometimes every 2–3 minutes) and is therefore not reliably usableThe seller has so far only offered a partial refund of €20 and is refusing to unwind the transaction. I declined this offer via eBay. The return case is currently open, and “involve eBay” will be possible shortly.My problem:I was no longer able to add the newly discovered functional defect (crashes) directly in the existing return form from a technical standpoint.Is it possible to add the new defects (crashes) later via text and images at the “involve eBay” step?Should I just wait for the eBay decision now, or is there another recommended intermediate step?Thanks in advance for your assessment.Best regards
