In the meantime, I called Ebay and they also advised me not to respond at all. If the buyer opens a case, Ebay will take care of it.
The buyer wants to blackmail me; first he wanted €10 and if I don’t pay, he’ll demand 15% from Ebay,,,,,,,, for an item that is clearly marked as first choice and supposedly has glaze damage.
So far he hasn't requested a return, he only wants a partial refund; first he writes 10€, but if he reports it to eBay he wants 15% (approx. 30€). I offered him a full refund upon return
That borders on coercion for me, and I would by no means agree to it.
There is also no entitlement to a partial refund here. The seller CAN offer a partial refund, and if the buyer accepts it, the case / return is closed.
And if you issue a refund without opening a case, the buyer can still file a complaint afterward.
How customer service at ebay decides once a case has been opened @inge6677 is hard to say in advance; you offered to take it back and reimburse the buyer for the original shipping costs, item costs, and return shipping costs? The last ones are important; you have to provide the buyer with a free return label if they reported an item that differs from the item description.

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @inge6677
as you were already told. The buyer should open a case, either a complaint or a cancellation. And then you respond in accordance with eBay rules.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea
