My messages to the seller are not being sent by eBay because, supposedly, they contain contact or payment information. But I didn't write anything like that. I bought the item and am supposed to pay upon pickup. Now I can't reach him.

If it’s not a vehicle, boat, or property, payment on collection is not allowed! Pay for the item as eBay intends and you can also send messages as soon as the payment has been confirmed by eBay.
