Purchase of defective (undeclared) but usable goods
Hello everyone,
Is there a way, other than through the rating, to point out that a seller is selling defective goods without declaring them as defective?

Mentor6 days agoHey @ovepete you already left a negative rating, did you report a case because of a discrepancy from the item description, or were you just trying to "warn" other buyers?

OP6 days agoHey Bootyooty (sounds wonderfully old school) I'm reaching out to clarify whether there are other ways to inform Ebay about this issue. I suspect that in my case a young, inexperienced seller with clearly terrible manners is behind this, but I think it's questionable on Ebay's part that, aside from a reversal of the transaction, there is no way to complain about a business practice. The item I bought is usable for me, but with the undisclosed damage it has zero resale value (I don't intend to resell it anyway, but I'm also not in a position to "burn" money)

Mentor6 days agoHi @ovepete who would want to burn money? 😒
What you can do is use the report form.

Item number, seller name, and then select "other" and briefly and clearly explain what it’s about.
There’s nothing more ebay can do.
