PURCHASE CANCELLED 2 x same item every time???
Summary: jutta-sieht-alles describes an unusual problem with a buyer on eBay who bought the same item twice and then requested order cancellations both times for "bought by mistake." jutta-sieht-alles decided to reject the second cancellation request and reported the buyer to eBay. perfect-sally and petersmodellbahnstuebchen recommend putting such buyers on a block list to avoid future problems. perfect-sally is skeptical that eBay will take any action in such cases.

I have a question about cancellations for commercial sales.
So what happens if a buyer purchases an item, pays for it, and then afterwards submits a purchase cancellation request with the reason "accidentally bought it," which I then agreed to and refunded the money
and then relisted the item commercially for a fee
and then
the SAME buyer (within 10 hours !!) buys this item (!!!!) again, pays again, and then submits another cancellation request with the reason " accidentally bought it"
Hmm, I’ve been on eBay for almost 30 years, privately and commercially, and I’ve never had anything like this before!!!
Have you experienced anything like this??
I’ve now written him a message, asking him to explain this kind of behavior plausibly; otherwise I will reject the renewed cancellation request, because, as I said, such non-compliant buying behavior just isn’t acceptable, especially since it costs money and time every single time
I’d appreciate an opinion from the members/mentors

but probably nobody has had something like that,
I called eBay and they told me I should decline, since I also have the Accept and Decline option
in addition, I reported the guy, because I think something like that has to be sanctioned by eBay
Sure, block list and all that, but does that ultimately solve the problem?? No, because he keeps thinking and doing whatever he wants for fun, just not with me, and that’s not how eBay should work either, right??

Mentor3 weeks agoEbay unfortunately won't sanction anything there. But in the opening thread you write something about commercial? How does the phone joker come up with the idea that you should reject that?

with new customers I usually do it pretty much like @perfect-sally . However, I also sometimes make exceptions when the buyer gives me a convincing explanation.

Mentor3 weeks agoFor me, such "buyers" go straight onto the block list after the first time, and as you can see, rightly so.
And if you're a commercial seller, you can't reject the cancellation request, and I wouldn't recommend it either.
With your private account, of course you can reject it, but in the end that doesn't really help either, because then the "buyer" may simply not pay and after 4 days you may no longer be able to cancel the purchase due to non-payment because a cancellation request already exists. And so the non-payer gets away without any defect record. So: block list, and immediately.
