Purchase cancellation by the seller
I bought a dress/tunic. The seller canceled the purchase on the grounds that the item had been discontinued since spring and he can no longer find it. Is it possible to determine from the item number when an item was discontinued? The explanation seems very dubious to me; the purchase price was probably too low for the seller.

Maybe the price was too low for the seller?
You have all civil-law options available to you.
Only you know the item number and the item.

OP1 week agoWell, opening a huge can of worms over civil-law options really isn't worth it. What I'm more concerned about is whether the seller is credible - he said as justification that the item had been online since spring and that he now can't find it anymore (just 10 min after the purchase). That really sounds like an excuse, right? I’d just like to know, for any future purchases, whether this seller is credible.

Mentor1 week agoWould you want to buy from this VK again, @hierboxenstop .
Could you mention the article number?

Mentor1 week agoWhat would it help you if you knew when the item was listed? eBay might be able to see it based on the item number, but probably wouldn’t tell you for data protection reasons.
If the seller actually canceled it for the reason you mentioned, then you should at least be able to leave feedback.

OP1 week agoUnfortunately, that’s exactly what can’t be done - the purchase can’t be rated - because of the cancellation, the item doesn’t appear in my list of purchases at all.
The seller claimed that the item had been online since spring, and then 10 min after the purchase he realized that he could no longer find the item. That’s pretty strange.
If one could determine whether the item really had been offered for that long, at least one would know whether the seller’s statement is credible.
