Hey dear community, yesterday I successfully won an item (376794340464) at auction. The seller "n...as" (since 10/2025 with 0 ratings) canceled the sale within a few seconds after the auction ended, saying the item was no longer in stock or had to be damaged. At the same time, he is offering 3 of the same items in other sales and after just a few minutes even the 4th identical item, all 4 items (376794727931, 376789893044, 376791676494 and 376789892425) of course far above my maximum bid. I contacted him about this, but received no reply. That's annoying enough already, but when I reported this auction to eBay I just got the flippant response, "Seller has not violated any policies." When I appealed, eBay responded with the same line. Does that now mean, conversely, that any seller who thinks the price is too low at the end of the auction can cancel the auction with the flimsy excuse "defective/no longer available" and relist the item without having to fear any consequences from buyers or eBay?Because even leaving a review for this seller is impossible on eBay, so more buyers keep falling for such sellers. Some years ago, such scams were not possible on this platform! I have been a buyer & seller here since 2003, but what is now possible on this platform (to put it politely) in terms of strange business practices does not match my moral standards. And if eBay doesn’t get this under control soon, the number of serious buyers/sellers will keep shrinking. I wish everyone a good start to 2026, except one person.....
