No more international shipping outside the EU possible?
Hello!
I used to use the "Global Shipping Program" quite often and now wanted to list an item again with international shipping, including for the USA. But somehow I can't get it to work - when I list it, it does show me the option to offer international shipping, but I can't select a shipping service.
I'm just a private seller - could it be that eBay has discontinued this for private individuals, or am I doing something wrong?

However, since you haven't sold anything in ages, it may be that you don't yet meet the requirements for this because you're being treated as a new seller again!
And we strongly advise private sellers in particular not to sell abroad if they don't want to risk losing money and goods under certain circumstances. Think about it very carefully! Because if problems come up, it's not ebay.de that decides, but the platform where the buyer is registered, and they decide in favor of buyers 99% of the time.

OP1 month agoThanks for that. Are you sure that's the explanation? I'm aware that international shipping carries risks, but since even DHL doesn't make it easy anymore to ship to the USA, I thought going through eBay would be easier.

And if you sell internationally on eBay, how do you expect to ship if not with DHL?
Sure, there are other providers that ship to the USA, but they’re accordingly expensive and buyers don’t necessarily want to pay that.
The "service" where eBay organizes shipping outside the EU is only coming, and of course not every seller will be unlocked for it right away and be able to use it. And whether it will actually amount to anything at all still has to be seen over time.
And shipping abroad always carries a greatly increased risk because you can lose both money and goods. The rules of the platform where the buyer is registered apply, and a lot can go wrong. In addition, for shipping to the USA, for example, you need end-to-end tracking and proof of delivery. With DHL, that is not always guaranteed.

OP3 weeks agoThere used to be something called Global Shipping on eBay - it still seems to be active outside of Germany too. It just apparently can't be enabled from Germany at the moment. I don't think it has anything to do with my seller status.
