No bids possible
Hello,
since yesterday I haven't been able to place bids on watched offers. This message always appears:
" Oops! Apparently there is a problem with the connection to the server. Reload the browser window and try again."
I have tried this several times, shut down the computer, tried again today, but without success.
What could be causing this?

Mentor1 month agoDear @selina_b@ebay I currently don't have an item to bid on; with the two from yesterday, the first bidding attempt went through after two error messages with FF.
On the second one nothing worked anymore, with no browser, only via the app.

@bootyooty I would then pass it on to the relevant department that you had problems there so that IT can check it.

And you and I are probably just a small part of the users reporting this, or who had the problem.
Nevertheless, ebay needs to know this in order to check and improve it.
I’ve never had anything like this in two decades.

OP1 month agoIt's exactly the same for me, and that's why I also decided to come here and ask for help. I didn't get it right away, but I did come across other users with the same problem. I don't know why it just started working again this morning. (But I'm glad it did!)

Yesterday I had exactly this kind of error message several times, in Edge as well as in the FF browser.
Bidding wasn’t possible at all, no matter the amount or format.
Strangely enough, the app had no trouble with bidding at all.

OP1 month agoHappens with all bids from different sellers, so I logged into my husband's eBay account and was able to bid there on items I was watching.

OP1 month agoI just found the question from schnhschans with exactly the same problem (end of August). The problem resolved itself there. Hm?

Mentor1 month agoHmhm, actually you have no business in your husband's account since the accounts are tied to individual people!
And if you were able to bid there, it could indeed be due to unpaid items or unauthorized cancellations of purchases.

OP1 month agoI have never canceled purchases or not paid, and my husband is so sweet and let me try this.
