No email notification when an item has been sold
Summary: talkenberger reports problems receiving email notifications from eBay, especially when items are sold. They have checked and reset all notification settings, but without success. Another participant, perfect-sally, suggests using eBay’s legal notice page to find contact options and mentions that an eBay employee might be able to provide insight into known issues. It is acknowledged that eBay’s AI contact was not helpful.
Hello everyone
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to contact eBay directly yet, and the contact with the AI is useless.
I hope someone here can help me.
I’m not receiving some emails from eBay ... e.g. when an item has been sold, or when I reply to a message (the checkbox for copy to me is, logically, checked).
However, I do get emails when a seller lists new items that I have saved in a search.
In the settings in my account, I have all types of notifications checked.
I’ve also already removed them and set them again.
It’s not good when an item gets sold and you don’t notice. Or only via the eBay app on your phone a day later :-(
The emails also don’t end up in SPAM or my mail gateway; they simply don’t arrive there at all.
Thank you in advance
Klaus

Ebay has a legal notice like all other companies too. You can find contact options there. And yes, I completely agree with you about the AI.
Have you set your notification settings correctly?
An ebay employee can check whether there may possibly be a problem with it, like with many other things.
@nina@ebay could you take a look? Thanks

OP2 weeks agoI marked everything, so it should fit ;-)
What do you mean by "You can check with an eBay MA whether there might possibly be a problem with it like with many other things."

OP2 weeks agoFound the error ... I went through our mail gateway completely ... The emails arrive there and are also delivered to our mail server ... On the mail server there is a ClamAV (virus scanner) which got damaged a bit during the last update ... reinstalled ... configured and restarted ... now the emails are coming through ;-)
So it was a home-made problem after all ... But thanks for your support ;-)
