Hello everyone,
I hope you can shed some light on an issue that concerns some of us: combined shipping and missing invoices. We all know that combined shipping is an excellent way to save on shipping costs and make sales more attractive. But what happens when the invoices are missing for these bundled shipments?
I put 9 items in the cart in one shop and requested combined shipping. 9 items times €6.90 shipping costs comes to €62.10 for shipping. Unfortunately, the seller isn’t responding, and eBay is putting pressure on me because of the 4-day payment deadline.
How do you deal with customers who buy several items from you and then realize that an invoice is missing?
Do you have strategies or tips that have proven effective in preventing this problem?
Which communication channels do you use to resolve such discrepancies quickly and in a friendly way?
I’m looking forward to your experiences and advice!
Best regards,

OP3 weeks agoThe last line was swallowed up. It said that the 2nd image comes from the purchases list. The shipping price was added to the item price afterward. Not just in this case, but not in all of them either.

I bought this through the cart. The image is a screenshot from the watchlist.

Mentor3 weeks agoHi @computermulmi
Ebay has made combined shipping extremely difficult in recent years, since, among other things, Buy It Now offers also have to be paid for immediately.
The only chance for a buyer is to add the offers to the cart and then request the amount for combined shipping, if the seller offers it.
I always ask sellers I don't know in advance via Ebay messages.
If one of my buyers has already paid beforehand, I refund them the excess shipping costs proportionally. Afterwards, the buyer then receives corrected individual invoices for the individual orders.
Alternatively, you can also use your own invoicing program to combine several orders into one collective invoice.
Kind regards from the Baltic Sea

OP3 weeks agoHello from the south!
In August I already bought from the same seller once and went through the cart path. Worked perfectly! And then I only had to pay postage once.
I haven't taken the self-calculation route yet. That feels weird.

Mentor3 weeks agoGood morning @computermulmi
the easiest way would be to ask about combined shipping BEFOREHAND if nothing is specified in the listing.
However, there is no right to combined shipping.
If you don't pay within the 4-day period and the purchase is therefore canceled, you'll get a note for each unpaid item, and after 2 notes you can no longer bid on and buy from most sellers.
And as for communication channels on eBay, there are basically only eBay messages; eBay can't trace anything else if that should ever be necessary.

OP3 weeks agoGood morning to you too, and thanks for the quick response. Last month I completed a similar deal with the same seller, and it went smoothly there. Now I’m waiting for an invoice and am being bombarded with reminders from eBay. Since tomorrow is day 4, I’ll probably pay this afternoon with gritted teeth.
What I’m curious about then, though, is the shipment, which would then have to consist of 9 individual items, otherwise that would ...
not really be legitimate.
