Just a question. How are you supposed to sell musical instruments if you’re not allowed to give an address. Buyers usually want to try out instruments beforehand.

OP2 weeks agoYou can't preview photos. Besides, how am I supposed to ship it if the buyer can't provide an address

Mentor2 weeks ago@rm1285 the eBay marketplace just isn’t the right platform for advance viewings.
Here, people first buy, pay, and then pick up. And only once the buyer has paid eBay is the shipping address shown to you so that you can ship when eBay lets you know that the buyer has paid.

OP2 weeks agoEbay is becoming more and more junk. The buyer pays upon pickup. And now what?

Mentor2 weeks agoeBay is not junk, and as for your "And now?".
Just get familiar with the rules, there is NO more cash payment on pickup, except in the categories vehicles, boats, airplanes.
So now @rm1285 ?

For real estate, vehicles and boats, depending on the category, you can additionally offer the payment method cash on pickup.

OP2 weeks agoYes, for the items I offer, it does. You don't ship saxophones because they often get out of adjustment from the rough handling of shipping companies. Besides, saxophones aren't off-the-shelf goods. You have to try them out to see whether the key action suits your hand size/finger length and whether you like the sound.
When was the payment method changed? I don't sell on eBay that often.
In my opinion, everything just keeps getting improved to death.
So use eBay only for buying. Anything else no longer makes sense.

Mentor2 weeks agoThe payment processing has been around for about 5 years @rm1285 was introduced gradually in 2020-2021.
As I already wrote. the eBay marketplace is not the sales platform where you can view and try out items beforehand, cash payment is practically a thing of the past.

Mentor2 weeks agoHey @rm1285
You can only list items like that for pickup. However, the potential buyer has to pay beforehand, before you arrange an appointment.
Alternatively, you can also ship it and grant the buyer a right of withdrawal. That means they can send the instrument back to you at their own expense if it doesn't fit.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

OP2 weeks agoYou can’t enter an address, the algorithm blocks it, or am I doing something wrong?

Mentor2 weeks agoPayment must of course be made before shipping.
