Paying VAT as a private seller
I was looking at my sales history the other day. And I noticed that I have to pay VAT on items sold abroad (EU). Now my question is why I, as a private seller, have to pay these taxes. As a buyer, that obviously makes perfect sense, but as a seller I still don’t quite get it. Can someone explain that to me?

Mentor2 months agoThanks for the feedback @nit9171. Here are some orders from abroad. For sales to other EU countries, in certain cases VAT and legal information may apply, which eBay must calculate and remit. You can find detailed information on this topic here. If you have any further tax-related questions, we recommend consulting a tax advisor, as we are not allowed to give advice in this regard. I wish you a joyful Pentecost. 🙂
Best regards
