Get in touch with eBay properly
Summary: martammi007 reports that a seller sold fake Panini World Cup stickers and, despite an initial refund of only €2 instead of the €83 the purchase cost, is refusing to issue a full refund. A return label was not provided because the return allegedly would have to be sent to China, even though the seller is supposedly based in Germany. The seller offered a 90% refund without return, but the case was closed, which meant the chance to involve eBay was lost. martammi007 is looking for ways to contact eBay outside the automated assistant and is hoping for advice.
Hello, a seller sold fake Panini World Cup stickers.
After I complained, he sent me a refund of just over €2; the total amount was €83.
I then sent a request for a full refund. But he couldn’t provide me with a return label
because that was supposedly too much of a hassle. The seller’s location was listed as Germany,
but I would have had to send the stickers to China. Now he has offered to refund 90%
and I could keep the stickers, or else I’ll dispose of them. The quality is abysmal.
He said that since he had already sent a refund, he could only send another one if I close the return.
Unfortunately, I believed him and closed the return, assuming I could still
involve eBay, since there are still 45 days available for that afterward. I wanted to do that now, but it’s no longer possible,
because I closed the return myself. So eBay is supporting scammers.
Is there any way to contact eBay properly, not just through the automatic assistant?
What can I do now? There are probably more cases involving this seller.
Hope you can help me, thanks!

Mentor2 weeks ago@martammi007 Hey. 🙂 I’ve had a look at this for you. However, your entitlement to our buyer protection expires as soon as the return is closed by you yourself. Unfortunately, we have no way to continue supporting you with this. Please never close returns prematurely to avoid situations like this.
@petersmodellbahnstuebchen Thanks a lot for the tag. ❤
Best regards,
Nina

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @martammi007
without getting your hopes up too much, you could open a dispute through your payment provider.
Ebay itself is out of this one, since you closed the return yourself.
That's just often the problem when you buy "cheap" from the Far East.
Maybe dear @nina@ebay still has an idea of how you can proceed, thanks Nina. ❤️
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea
