New account, I didn't want that
Summary: anin_34 reports that after an overnight PC update, a new eBay account was suddenly created instead of the familiar old account. She is trying to find the old account again, since the new account appears without logging in. turbotuentchen suggests using a different browser to solve the problem, since signing in via Google, Apple, or Facebook can lead to this kind of confusion. anin_34 thanks them and will try the suggestion.
My PC downloaded new updates last night. After that I usually have to log back into Ebay, and today was no different.
Today, however, I was supposed to add details (address and phone number). I didn’t think anything of it and did it. Suddenly I have a new account. I don’t want that at all. Before I simply log out of this new account again, I wanted to check to be on the safe side whether my old one, which I’ve had for over 30 years, still exists. But I can’t do that. As soon as I open Ebay on my PC, this new account appears right away, no login screen. I’m a bit at a loss right now and could use your expertise.
Best regards

Mentor3 weeks agoHello, it can happen that when you log in to eBay via Google, Apple, or Facebook, a new account is created. If you have the password-saving function enabled in your browser, it also won’t log you into the other account.
Please try logging into your old account with a different browser.

OP3 weeks agoThat worked. Can I just deregister the "new", unwanted account now?
