Hello, I sold a used Playstation abroad via Ebay. The buyer received a letter from the customs office saying that the package was damaged during transport and that he has to pick it up there. Apparently the box got wet during transport. Of course, the water then ran into the thoroughly padded Playstation. Total loss. Of course I will refund the buyer his money. My question is: Do I have any chance of getting my money back from the DHL insurance? We’ve read some pretty horror stories about this while googling this topic. I’m wondering whether I have to write the money off. At most I have photos of the damaged console, the letter from customs, and the status in the shipment tracking. The device has already been repacked by them. So there are no pictures of the transport damage itself. I’m planning to refund the buyer the money and ask him to dispose of the broken device. I don’t want to pay another €20 for the return shipping of electronic waste. Thanks in advance for the help!
