Price at checkout higher than accepted price proposal.
Ebay says: "The seller has accepted your counteroffer in the amount of US $150.00. The item is yours only once you have paid. Pay for the item before the time runs out or someone else will beat you to it."
...
However, when I click on "pay" - the price at checkout increases to $178.50 plus shipping costs.
Where do the additional $28.50 in extra charges come from?

Too bad eBay doesn’t show how the price is made up before you submit the price suggestion.
I’d rather cancel, because price suggestion +19% - is not the final price I’d be willing to pay for the item.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you buy outside the EU, you basically know that there’ll be something extra on top.
If it’s a commercial seller, you may be able to cancel if it’s regulated that way in the USA too. A private seller does not have to accept a cancellation.
