Print Mail Label: 'No Services available"
Summary: kasperlue expressed frustration over eBay's reliance on community responses for service inquiries, citing issues with their chatbot. They faced a problem with printing a shipping label due to unavailable services. petersmodellbahnstuebchen suggested contacting customer service directly, while perfect-sally pointed out that buyers are responsible for providing correct addresses and highlighted the need to use shipping provider websites for non-EU labels. kasperlue speculated that the issue might be related to customs and taxes for US shipments, considering alternatives like DHL Express or FedEx. perfect-sally added concerns about insurance and the risks of sending high-value items abroad.
First of all it's funny that eBay lets questions regarding their service answer by a community instead of answering them themselves.
The chat bot not helpful in any way and seems to be way behind current AI solutions.
Anyway, maybe anyone here has an idea.
I'm trying to print a shipping label but eBay says "No services available". Unfortunately I can't get an answer why not.
What do you do in these situations? Manually enter the address at a shipping provider?
Is it the recipient response then that the shipping address is correct?
Best regards,
Tassilo

OP1 month agoHey, thanks for your replies!
Yeah, I'm not sure what else to say to be honest, since I don't have any more information either. Usually I just print the label and never got this Services not available message before.
The buyer is in the US and I got some indications that it may have to do with that due to customs and taxes. But that's just a guess.
The package would be a 1kg DHL Package L.
Chat GPT mentioned that I may not be able to send it via DHL at all but would need DHL Express or FedEx.

Mentor1 month ago · EditedYou can't create labels on ebay for outside the EU and D. You have to do that on the shipping provider's websites and enter the tracking number and the carrier manually on the item.
I don't know what it's about, but I can see a sold item of yours for over €600. You do know that regular parcels are only insured up to €500, right? You hopefully also know that if the buyer complains about anything, you could possibly lose both the money and the goods? The ebay platforms decide where the buyer is registered. I would never ship such high-value items abroad.
And yes, the AI could be right; you'll have to see whether and how it can be shipped.

Mentor1 month agoSo is the recipient's reply that the shipping address is correct?
What kind of reply? The buyer is responsible for providing the correct delivery address!
There’s not much more to say since you’re being very sparse with your information. What kind do you want to use for franking?
Letter
Parcel
Small package
Mail
DHL
Hermes
Where is this supposed to go?

Hi Tassilo,
if you write "employee" or "call back" to the chat bot (if necessary several times), customer service will call you.
Kind regards from the Baltic Sea
