Private eBay account blocked (alleged third-party access) – reactivation has not been completed despite repeated verification
Summary: fl-commerce reports problems with a locked private eBay account that was suspended due to alleged unauthorized access. Although the identity was verified by phone, the account remains locked, which is causing further difficulties, such as callback requests that cannot be processed. fl-commerce is looking for help because customer service is not offering a solution, and asks whether a limited login is possible or whether there is an alternative point of contact. Unfortunately, no one in the forum can help, and they are advised to contact customer service again.
Hello everyone,
I’m posting here through my business account, but the problem concerns my additional private eBay account, which has been suspended for several days.
eBay’s reason was alleged access by a third person – but that’s not the case, it was me. I’ve already verified myself by phone with support as the legitimate account holder. On 09/18, I was promised reactivation within 4–5 hours, but that didn’t happen. On 09/19, I called twice again, but both times the support agents were unable to verify my identity.
According to support, my account is also linked to another suspended account unknown to me. I suspect this has something to do with the sale of a camera: shortly after I listed the item, a buyer placed a bid via best offer, I accepted it – apparently that buyer’s account was then suspended, and that now seems to be affecting my account.
In addition, problems are now suddenly piling up with old purchases that were completed long ago, or cases/returns are being opened – which I can’t respond to or handle because of the account suspension.
There is also still outstanding credit on the account, which I’d like to have paid out.
Has anyone here had a similar case or knows the best way for me to move forward? Is there an active moderator here who could look into this internally?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @fl-commerce no, an eBay employee here can’t step in because you aren’t present here with your other eBay account.
Please contact customer service again, there’s no other way.

OP2 weeks agoHi,
I understand the rule and don’t want to bother anyone here either – I’m just frustrated at the moment because nothing’s been moving for days and so far I haven’t gotten any real answer or solution from customer service.
Two quick questions about this, if anyone knows:
Can I still get in touch here somehow with the blocked account (e.g. if a restricted login is still possible), or is that completely out of the question?
Is there any other contact point at eBay that I can reach out to in addition to regular customer service if they just don’t get back to me?
Thanks for your patience!

Mentor2 weeks ago@fl-commerce also go ahead and try whether you can be allowed into the Community here with the account blocked for sales.
Plenty of users show up here too who say they can’t get into their eBay account, but then they’re logged in here in the Community.
It’d be worth a try, wouldn’t it?

Mentor2 weeks agoIf it doesn’t concern the account that’s being used to write here, we can’t help here and customer service must be contacted.
Please check the legal notice.

OP2 weeks agoHello,
thanks for the feedback. I’m aware of that – but the problem is precisely that I can’t write here with the affected (private) account at all, since it’s blocked and I can’t log in with it. That’s why I’m contacting you through my second, business account.
I’ve already contacted the email address listed in the legal notice, but unfortunately I haven’t received any information at all about why the account was blocked in the first place. I’m basically just looking for some way to get my account unlocked again.
If there’s a way to do that here, e.g. via private message with proof of account ownership, I’d be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!

Mentor2 weeks agoNo @fl-commerce that doesn’t work via DM either, you’ll have to sort that out directly with customer service. If those cases are piling up on your other account now, it could be that it gets permanently blocked in no time. And actually, you wouldn’t be allowed to sell here with any other account either — including the business one — because the block is tied to the person, not the account.
