Problem with deliveries without tracking
Summary: kikomann_hobby has a problem with two deliveries where eBay is withholding the payments even though the buyers have confirmed receipt. I currently have a problem with two shipments, where eBay is still holding the amounts even though both buyers have already confirmed receipt.
The first shipment was sent with basic shipment tracking from Deutsche Post. The buyer confirmed to me that the package arrived, but the status in the shipment tracking has still not been updated accordingly to this day. An inquiry with Deutsche Post/DHL has so far unfortunately only led to automatic or not very helpful responses.
The second shipment was sent without tracking. (I’m relatively new here and didn’t know that an untracked package would cause such a problem) Here too, the buyer confirmed to me that the package arrived. However, since there is no shipment tracking, eBay still does not recognize the order as delivered and the amount remains withheld.
I have already contacted eBay customer service several times about this, but each time I received responses that unfortunately did not really address my specific question.
So I wanted to ask about your experiences:
Have you ever had a similar case where the buyer confirmed receipt, but eBay still continued to withhold the amount?
How long did it take for the amount to be released in your case for a shipment without tracking?
Is there a way for eBay to take the buyer’s confirmation into account, even if the shipping status on Ebay is not updated to “delivered”?

Mentor1 week agoA confirmation of receipt from the buyer or even a rating is not recognized by ebay as proof of delivery.
Without valid tracking and without valid proof of delivery, it can take up to 30 days before payment is made.
And even the basic tracking often has no proof of delivery since it is only scanned in mail centers.

OP1 week agoAh okay, understood. So the amount won’t be withheld forever after all. That already puts me a bit more at ease.
And yes, with the letters, all the others have so far been scanned in without any issues and later also shown as delivered. This is the first time something like this has happened to me, which is why I was a bit frustrated.
