Problem with the buyer
Summary: fabstt_0 had auctioned off a Pokémon box, and the buyer wanted to cancel immediately after winning, which was rejected. After receiving it, the buyer complained about the condition of the item and requested a return. perfect-sally and bootyooty advised providing the buyer with a return label and refunding the item once it was received back to avoid issues with the sales platform. perfect-sally pointed out that the photos were not sufficiently informative and that a clear description of all defects was important.
Hello.
I sold a Pokemon TTB at auction, and the buyer requested a cancellation immediately after winning the bid. I refused that and sent the item right away. Now that the item has arrived today, he is complaining that it is not in perfect, collection-worthy condition. It is slightly dented at one corner (which was visible in the photos of the listing), and all of a sudden it has a small tear in the plastic wrap that was definitely not there when it was shipped. He now wants to cancel the purchase.
What is the best way for me to proceed as a private seller here?
Best regards
perfect-sally
Mentor5 days agoWell, if the buyer complains and opens a return, you have to pay for the return shipping and refund the full amount once you receive it. If you don't do that, eBay will handle it for you and you'll get a defect on your account.

Mentor5 days agoDid he write it like that and can you prove it?
perfect-sally
Mentor5 days agoYou can't prove that, and if something is visible in photos, it should also be in the item description, and I don't see that. And honestly, your pictures aren't really all that informative either. Also, it's generally not very advisable to choose the AI description; instead, write one yourself that is truthful and also describes any possible defects. Real collectors are usually very particular about that, from experience.

OP5 days agoThanks for the answer. So I have no choice but to go along with all of it and take the box back with a defect (torn film), more than before?

Mentor5 days agoYou must provide him with a return label @fabstt_0 and after receiving the goods, you then refund him.
And put him on your bidder blocklist
