Problem with a text error
Summary: brumm16 sold a Freestyle Libre 3 sensor and faced an issue when the buyer assumed the sale included two sensors due to a wording error in the listing. Despite including photos and specifying a quantity of 1, the buyer interpreted the description as referring to two sensors. bootyooty and petersmodellbahnstuebchen suggested that brumm16 should have made the listing clearer and consider accepting a return due to the misunderstanding. perfect-sally emphasized the importance of writing clear descriptions, and petersmodellbahnstuebchen clarified that the quantity is only displayed to the buyer when more than one item is available.
Hey,
I sold a Freestyle libre 3 plus sensor. The buyer paid right away too.
After the purchase and payment, he messaged me and asked whether there were 2 sensors.
I replied that there was only 1 item.
I had 2 photos in the listing, one from the front and one of the expiry date.
From that he concludes that I am selling 2 items for the price.
I then asked him whether he wanted to cancel. There was no reply and I shipped the item.
Now he is writing that he doesn't want to buy because the text said "sensors" instead of "sensor".
The listing says Quantity: 1
Do I need to expect problems now?
I had simply used the prewritten text from eBay.
What all you have to pay attention to.😱🙈🙈🙈🙈

OP2 weeks agoYou can enter the number of items in any auction by specifying the price, and I entered 1 there.
I can't just give him the 73€ now.
He could have asked before buying. That's how I do it anyway. I don't buy if I'm not completely sure.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou're making it too easy for yourself! And no one is saying anything about giving away! He returns it and you refund.
And it is always sensible to write your own texts and not appropriate pre-written texts. You can see what happens.
And very few users really read and they don't pay attention to the quantity either.
And an offer has to be clear so that interested parties don't need to ask questions.
Unluckily done, too little text in the description, the picture not clear as written. Then you should have pointed it out again in bold in the AB and even there it is often not read, but you might have been out.

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @brumm16
the available quantity is only shown in the listing if it is greater than 1, e.g.:
If the quantity is 1, nothing is shown to the buyer.

Mentor1 week agoAnd you should have waited for a reply before sending it off ! The point remains, you specified plural, "sensors" and posted a photo showing two products.
That also has nothing to do with reading it wrong or anything like that... as the seller, you alone are responsible for making sure the pictures match the text.
A buyer is allowed to rely on getting what was offered.

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @brumm16
You not only have in the item description (800423437718), but also in the item title (headline) the following:
freestyle libre3 sensors plus
I also don't see any indication of 1 piece anywhere. If I were you, I'd bite the bullet and take it back.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @brumm16 take that back, you could have posted two photos, one of the front and the other of the back.
And you also didn’t explicitly mention that it’s only ONE product.
And I also personally don’t think it’s okay that you then just ship it off.
Is selling actually even allowed for private individuals, dear @nina@ebay
