Reversal through eBay
Summary: blind_passenger reports problems with a defective item he sold on a platform. The item, a Garmin smartwatch, was correctly described as defective because the start/stop button did not work. However, the buyer complains that restarting is not possible and is demanding a refund, which blind_passenger считает unfounded. Although it’s only 15 EUR, it’s a matter of principle for him, and he is looking for ways to appeal the platform’s decision.
A defective item was listed (336778166435 Garmin Smartwatch). In the description — also with the requirement to provide as much detail as possible — it was described that the start/stop button does not work. "Watch has a mechanical problem and does not respond when the start/stop button is pressed." I came to this assessment after various restarts and also after a successful reset according to Garmin's description.
Now the buyer is complaining that these very restarts would not be possible. That, and the decision to refund the purchase price, are neither understandable nor justified to me. The button that does not work is not the cause of the defect, but merely a result of a defect. It's "only" ~15 EUR, but it's a matter of principle for me. Are there any ways to appeal this? On eBay I keep being led into dead ends.
