Refund case automatically closed, although resolved
Summary: moerfel26 reports that a refund case was automatically closed even though it had been resolved. bootyooty reacts to this, but the content of their post is not visible.
I won an item at auction on April 28.
Item number 137215992582.
A tracking number was also provided quickly, but then nothing happened at first.
On May 11, I opened a case "item not received" and after several days of contact with the seller it turned out that the shipment had not yet been sent out there.
Then yesterday on 18/5 I received a new tracking number.
Now I got an email from Ebay (19/5) saying that the case was closed in my favor and that I received a refund.
I'm a bit confused.
I don't think this was initiated by the seller. Did I do something wrong and respond too late on my side in the case and not close it myself?
My question is: Can the case be reopened or is there some way to "reverse" the refund?
Of course I don't want the seller to be left standing there now without goods and without money.
Or can I only contact him now and pay another way?
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards

Mentor2 months agoHi @moerfel26 you didn’t do anything wrong, everything went fine.
Because it’s not just the tracking number that matters, but rather proof of delivery, and your seller couldn’t provide that. eBay then decided for you and refunded you.
Now you wait calmly to see whether anything actually gets delivered.
If so, and you want to keep it, you can pay the seller directly; a second payment via eBay isn’t possible.
If you no longer want the item, I’d refuse the delivery, then it goes back to the seller.
