Return accepted. Seller is not picking up the item (freight company). Deadline exceeded.
Summary: ancientbeeing has a problem with returning a WC that doesn't match their order. Despite arranging for a return and being provided a shipping label, the item requires pickup by a freight service due to its weight. The pickup has been delayed for two weeks, causing the return deadline to be missed. ancientbeeing is frustrated with the seller's inaction and is considering involving PayPal, but perfect-sally advises against it, suggesting that involving PayPal could exclude eBay from the process. ancientbeeing seeks advice on how to proceed.
Hello,
I ordered a toilet, which unfortunately didn’t match at all in terms of color. I had ordered it after prior agreement that I could send the item back too. Free return shipping was offered. Unfortunately, that then became necessary.
Now I’ve initiated a return and received a Hermes shipping label. But the item is too heavy and is supposed to be picked up by a freight company. I’ve already been waiting 2 weeks for that now. The return period has now expired, and some other deadline expires on 15/7. It seems to me like the seller is just banking on that. He only wants to refund the money after checking the goods in his warehouse; I have no idea what his freight company does with the toilet, and honestly that’s no longer my problem either.
I already contacted eBay, but nothing happened there either. Does anyone have any other ideas? I’m thinking about involving PayPal in parallel now, maybe they’ll do something? I could puke...
Many thanks!

Mentor3 weeks agoI would leave the PayPal thing for now, because then eBay is completely out! With PayPal and eBay running in parallel, there’s nothing there!
Why are you waiting so long? Why are you letting deadlines pass by! That’s just created more problems for you!
And what do you mean by some deadline? You should know which deadline it’s about.

OP3 weeks agoThe return period referred to shipping with Hermes after the seller accepted the return, but that's not possible at all for this item. What am I supposed to do?

Mentor3 weeks agoA return period does not refer only to a shipping provider, but applies independently.
If the item has to be picked up by a freight carrier, then I don’t really understand why the seller issued a Hermes label.
Best to post here in the thread again tomorrow morning and we can bring in an eBay employee to take a look at everything.
